SUMMARY:The Garden Gallery
DESCRIPTION:The Festival Drayton Centre has an exciting addition to its extensive portfolio. The walls of the centre bordering the garden and patio area at the rear of the building are now adorned by twenty two superb frescoes.\nUsing imported but traditional materials the panels have provided talented local artist\, Nick Parry\, the opportunity to create a pictorial social history of Market Drayton. Local natural history\, geography\, traditions\, crafts and industries are illustrated alongside more specific historical events. \n  \n \n  \nNick has used well researched methods and styles to ensure that his stunning outdoor ‘masterpieces’ last for many years. \nTo accompany the exhibition the artist has written a book which makes an enchanting journey through bygone days. The books are available at the Centre reception desk. \nThe display is open throughout the year and may be accessed whenever the Centre is open.

SUMMARY:Party in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Market Drayton’s Party in the Park\, which has been held twice and was inspired by an event in Whitchurch\, was scheduled to go ahead later this year with live music\, food stalls and free entry. \nThe young event has been a hit so far\, drawing 2\,000 people to the town park in 2018 and 1\,600 last year despite poor weather. \nCoronavirus has meant much of this summer’s social events have been cancelled or postponed\, but as restrictions are eased\, organiser Mike Smith said he still hopes to have a party in some capacity this year\, though it would likely mean charging for entry to make it realistic.
