Originally constituted as Market Drayton Seniors’ Enterprise in February 2015, the organisation was reconstituted as Market Drayton Community Enterprise CIO (MDCE) in May 2018, to reflect its increasing inter-generational activities.

Its aim is to provide facilities, activities and opportunities to help persons of all ages to lead fulfilled, healthy and active lives by tackling the causes of loneliness, lowliness, rural and urban social isolation. It is the intention to reduce demand on medical services and contribute to a greater sense of community and wellbeing.

MDCE cooperates with other appropriate organisations, not located in Market Drayton, to bring their specialist expertise to the locality’s residents by providing them with outreach facilities according to demand.
