A walking group from Cheswardine who after visiting The Birks developed a love for its uniqueness, quirkiness and its ever-challenging landscape and weather have decided to do a sponsored walk to raise much needed funds for it.
Departing from Cheswardine on the 29th May the group will head to Oban in Scotland and cross over to the Outer Hebrides, walking ‘The Hebridean Way’ 156 miles averaging 15 miles a day, the route will start in Vatersay and cross 10 Islands, 6 Causeways and 2 ferries finishing in Stornoway, you will be able to follow their progress through daily blogs on the website www.thebirks.org and via Facebook. Hopefully there will be no mention of blisters…
