The Maurice Chandler Sports and Leisure Centre is an active charity organisation based in Stoke Heath and Serves your Community. Only 4 Miles from Market Drayton we offer sports and leisure activities for the population of the surrounding areas providing activities on a cost- effective basis and are a Tier One facility within the Indoor Leisure Facilities Strategy for Shropshire.
From the centre we provide a variety of facilities opening on 6 days a week with increasing attendance, some of the sports offered are:
5-a- Side Football; Netball; In-Line Roller Hockey; Badminton; Gymnasium with full training facilities; Roller Disco; Target Shooting; Mini-Tennis; Walking Football; Field Hockey training facilities; Table Tennis
The purpose of this statement is to keep you informed of the continuance of the full scope of the activities available to the population of your parish. The period of COVID when we were required to close has financially been one of our most challenging we have experienced but we have come through this thanks to a number of Charitable Donations and Government support schemes. We charge for the use of our facilities at competitive rates and the income from this meets our costs. We are improving our facilities but in order for us to keep on improving, then your recognition of us is essential. From this we are empowered to make bids on some of the larger grant funds to improve our current facilities and to enhance the range of the sports we provide. This helps us to meet the Shropshire Council Vision that Shropshire will be a county where healthier active lifestyles are encouraged, supported and facilitated for everyone.
